Connection Types of Resistors

Resistors are circuit elements that appear in almost every electronic circuit. According to the circuit design, they are the circuit elements that come up with different connection types.

Resistors act as current limiters and voltage dividers.

Connection types of resistors are basically three types. There are three types of connection: serial, parallel and mixed connection.
In the example series circuit, the equivalent resistance Reş is found by the formula Reş=R1+R2+R3.

In the example parallel circuit, Reş is found with the formula 1/Reş=(1/R1)+(1/R2)+(1/R3).

For example, in a mixed-connection circuit, both serial and parallel connections are available. In this case, we "series" the equivalent circuit by calculating the parallel-connected groups separately and the series-connected groups separately. Ra and Rb are found by parallel resistance calculation. R1, Ra, Rb are in series with each other. Then; Reş is found from the formula Reş= R1+ Ra+Rb.
